De leraar LO bereidt leerlingen binnen het vak lichamelijke opvoeding voor op een succesvolle en plezierige deelname aan onze sport- en beweegcultuur. De leraar LO leert de leerlingen niet alleen (beter) te bewegen, maar leert hen ook bewegen te regelen (bijvoorbeeld in de rol van coach, scheidsrechter of hulpverlener) en samen verantwoord te bewegen. Daarnaast draagt de leraar bij aan de kennis over, en het inzicht in bewegen. Om deze complexe taak goed uit te kunnen voeren besteden we in de opleiding veel aandacht aan de ontwikkeling van vakinhoudelijke, vakdidactische en pedagogische bekwaamheden van de student.(ALO)
